About Algorithmic Trading

Trading robots are assistive devices. No matter how sophisticated a trading robot is, it will never be able to compete with the human brain.

The human brain consists of 100 billion cells. Theoretically to imitate the human brain with neural networks (AI), it will need a model with at least 100 billion nodes. The processor resources needed for such large amount of data is astronomical. Even if we manage to build such a neural network, we still miss human consciousness, the ability to step back and recheck you own thoughts.

While it is possible to install a trading robot, hit play and go to the beach for surfing, it is not recommended:

  • Trading robots are operating in a narrow range within the market; so this trading robot. They are programmed to analyse specific predefined market conditions to open a trade or to close one. There are further billions and billions of situations the market may create; these situations can’t be recognized by the bot if it is not programmed to do so. So, if you let a trading robot to run fully automatically, it will work, however, it will generate small profit and if you are unlucky, a big equity drawdown.

  • Something may technically go wrong, like network issues, an OS-Crash etc.

  • A flash-crash may occur

  • Other unexpected market conditions
